WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING
First of all, affiliate marketing is a marketing strategy in which an affiliate promotes a
brand or product in exchange for a commission.
In fact, affiliate marketing is based on the principle of paid performance.
It’s an interesting technique for e-commerce stores, as funds are exchanged when
the sale is completed.
There are 3 main types of affiliate marketing: unattached affiliate marketing, involved
affiliate marketing and related affiliate marketing.
- Unattached affiliate marketing is the least involved form of affiliate marketing.
It’s an advertising model in which the affiliate doesn’t need to be directly linked
to or involved in the product or service he’s promoting.
- Affiliation marketing is a different form of marketing, in which the affiliate or
partner is directly linked to the product or service being promoted.
They either use or have already used it, so they’re considered a trusted
source of information. - Related affiliate marketing is another form, i.e. the affiliate has a certain type
of relationship with the offer, and has influence in generating traffic.
On the other hand, the affiliate makes no claims on the use of the product.
Amazon was the first to popularize affiliate marketing by creating an affiliate
marketing program whereby websites and bloggers place links to Amazon pages for
a featured product in order to receive advertising fees when a purchase is made.
As far as affiliation is concerned, it’s actually a marketing technique that enables
websites to promote their product or service by offering a fee to other websites in
exchange for sales or other benefits…
WHO ARE THE AFFILIATES?
Affiliates can be individuals or companies. Generally speaking, they’ll be content
creators who operate in the same sector as the product creator.
WHO WILL BE THE PRODUCT’S CONSUMERS?
These are the customers, i.e. the people who carry out an action such as making a
purchase, which enables affiliates to earn their commission.
WHAT IS THE AFFILIATE MARKETING SYSTEM?HOW DOES IT WORK?
Affiliate marketing creates a win-win relationship between advertiser and affiliate.
The advertiser is exposed to a wider audience through the affiliate, and the affiliate
generates income based on the performance of the affiliate link.
